The Tune-Up

If your bike is a few years old or has been heavily used, this advanced tune-up will keep your ride safe and reliable for the riding season.     

• Clean the bike and conduct a full safety inspection  checking for damage

Service Drive Train:

• Remove, degrease and clean all drivetrain components in our ultrasonic parts cleaner

• Re-install and set up all drivetrain components

• Lubricate chain

Service wheels:

• Remove axle and bearings, clean inspect, *replace parts if required

• Re-assemble with new grease and adjust

• Inspect tires for cracks and excessive wear

• Inflate tires to specified manufacturer recommendations

• True wheels and balance spokes

Service Bottom Bracket:

• Inspect for play and noise while rotating

• If play or noise is present, remove cranks, spindle, cups, and bearings

• Clean, inspect, grease and *replace parts if required

• Re-assemble, adjust and torque cranks to specification

Service Headset:

• Inspect head tube/headset for play

• If play or noise is present, remove fork, races, and bearings

• Clean, inspect, grease and *replace parts if required

• Re-assemble and adjust to proper torque

Service Brakes:

• Rim brakes – remove brake arms, clean and grease posts

• Inspect and clean pads, *replace parts if required

• Set pads to rim and adjust toe-in

• Inspect brake cables and housings for ease of motion and oxidation, *replace parts if required

• Disc Brakes – inspect pads, *replace parts if required

• Inspect rotor for wear and damage, *replace parts if required

• Inspect for rotor true and adjust as required

• Torque rotor bolts to specification

Hydraulic brake bleed is an extra service not included in this tune-up.

Service Derailleurs:

• Remove rear derailleur, clean and lube pulleys, and pivot points

• Inspect and align derailleur hanger as required

• Re-install, set limits and b-tension screw

• Adjust front derailleur limits and align to chainrings

• Align front and rear derailleurs

• Inspect shift cables and housings for ease of motion and oxidation, *replace parts if required

• Correct shifting issues

• Fine tune shift indexing

Check, and tighten the following:

• Adjust position of controls, handlebar, and saddle

• Seat tube & post – clean and install anti-seize compound

• Torque all binder bolts to specification

• Torque crank bolts and pedals

• Torque stem, handlebar, and saddle
